The fast growing suburb of Sydenham is experiencing a recent surge in popularity due to its city fringe location of 8km from the CBD. Various transport links and riverside parklands locale has created a wave of gentrification that brings a demand for lifestyle options such as cafes, restaurants and shops. 

In geographic terms Sydenham is quite a tiny suburb and is bordered by Marrickville, St Peters, Tempe and the Princes Highway. It has a mix of housing with workers cottages and federation semi’s and terraces mixed amongst new townhouse developments. Sydenham continues to find  popularity again with young families and professionals due to its close proximity to the city and better affordability than some of the suburbs that neighbour it such as Newtown and Enmore.

The locals love living here because they are at the hub of everything. With 3 rail lines intersecting at Sydenham train station the next train is never far away. If you’re headed to the city then you can be at central station within minutes. Marrickville, in the other direction, is even closer and has access to all its fabulous eating and entertainment options. Newtown and Enmore are just a short bus ride or drive away.

Locals can enjoy the out outdoors at Sydenham Green which has its own playground, BBQ facilities, toilets. For the pooch owners there is also a fully fenced off-leash dog exercise area.

Families in area with school aged children have access to the public primary and high schools at Tempe, again just around the corner,

Typically Sydenham offers “more bang for your buck”, due to its position directly under the flight path. Aircraft noise sometimes a cause for concern is usually dealt with by window double glazing in most houses.
