The Infants’ Home MacCallum House preschool

Are you looking for a preschool program where your child can explore, play, learn and make new friends in a warm, nurturing and beautiful environment? The Infants’ Home is an award winning provider of early childhood education and care, and our MacCallum House community preschool is located within our spacious heritage grounds in Ashfield, in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West.

The preschool’s program, delivered by qualified and experienced early childhood educators, is underpinned by the Australian Early Year’s Learning Framework. Children learn through a play and interest-based curriculum that helps them to build their knowledge, skills and positive dispositions for learning. The program encourages children to explore, reflect, and to interact with peers and educators to build positive relationships and share their learning. Educators work with families to tap into each child’s unique strengths and interests to help them to reach their full potential and to get ready for the next big step of starting school.

At MacCallum House preschool we focus on supporting the development of the whole child. We will help your child develop their communication, social, physical, problem-solving and creative skills, and we provide a tailored transition to school program for each child. We also have a team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists and social workers who work onsite alongside our educators to provide early intervention services and support for children and families who need it.

MacCallum House preschool is open from 8am to 3pm Tuesday to Friday, with two preschool sessions available: Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday and Friday, for children aged from three to six years. Individual children may attend one of these two sessions. The preschool follows NSW state school terms, and is closed during school holidays.
